were my first wedding back from a November break the beginning of this December. I have already finished editing all their photos and am uploading them all online as I type! They will be able to view them just in time for x-mas too!

We did portraits right around sunset (not hard to do this time of year) and got some beautiful results thanks to the downtown Palatine, IL train station and second photographer Christine for holding a light.

Married at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake with reception to follow. A lovely couple and wedding all around, but I was so disappointed that it rained. When it was raining it was misting, ALL night long. We couldn't get outside to take a single photo! Thankfully the barn lent itself as a beautiful backdrop and Elizabeth and Chris all dolled up were just the final touch it needed for some great photos.

Well here is my last wedding for the fall (more to come in December). It was a bustling season but am glad to have a bit of a break to catch up on things. Most of all updating my website with a ton of new bewitching photos!

Ryan and Kate married at the beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple in Oak Park and had their reception at the nearby Carleton Hotel. It was briskly cold but lovely day. Thanks for having me out to document it guys!

Their wedding was in Bull Valley, IL near my hometown. The past few weddings I have photographed have been close to home. Hmmm? Anywho a fun bunch who where able to laugh when this photographer walked up a steep hill in her rubber soled shoes asking them to follow forgetting they had on dress shoes! The photos will tell all.

Married mid June earlier this summer just outside of Milwaukee, WI. Beautiful sunny day gave some great photos at the country club where they had their reception. They had a candy treat bar too! Yum!

These guys eloped a year earlier then decided to have a reception at Salvage One this past June. So glad they did! This place was amazing and I cannot wait to get back.

Danielle and Jim got married! Their ceremony was at St. Vincent DePaul with reception at the Merchandise Mart's Holiday Inn. Great day all around. We did portraits at Wrigley field and by the Humbolt Park boathouse.

Fun fun fun! We went to a few select locations around downtown and then onto Galleria Marchetti. I have never shot a wedding there before but think I was there more than a few years ago for a Sex and the City Cosmopolitan party with Jeremy!

I photographed these engagement portraits in Long Grove, IL. It's truly a hidden jewel. Driving by on route 83 you would never guess this historical district is there because it's camouflaged by a surrounding forest. Amy & Josh were definitely up for photographing portraits in every inch of this place!

Kathleen & Nathan were married the end of August this past summer. I was really looking forward to this event, they had a trolley drive them around! They were a fun couple to photograph too, lots of quirky poses and the disguise glasses at the reception, how cool!

Alison & Chris's wedding was at Maxim's, a beautiful replica of the famous Parisian restaurant, but also held during the weekend of the Chicago Air & Water show! Shooting outside was great but a little noisy! Just wish I could have gotten a shot of them with the Blue Angels flying overhead, they zipped by right as we were getting to the park!

Not that I didn't mind the old one (liked it but didn't love it), but here is my new logo (love it) that is on my website and everywhere else I can post it. I just think its a better reflection of me and my work, and has just a simple clean look. Just hate that I have to order new business cards again.....

So I've decided to try and finally keep a blog. The reason? I have been freelancing for nearly the past year (wow it's almost been a year?) and have found a little bit of adventure, while re-establishing myself back in the Chicago area.

I have since started photographing weddings full-time, along with keeping up with shooting news assignments, and whatever other tidbits come my way. A big thanks to friend Jeremy Lawson (see goofy photos from his awesome party last week!) who has helped me with learning what's new and cool in shooting weddings!

Last night I photographed Chris and Alison's wedding at Maxim's in Chicago. It was a blast! Here's a cute one......
